Bill Ankudavich was born on 12/20/1941 in Brooklyn, NY. Bill’s father was a WWI veteran, who at emigrated from Lithuania as a child. His mother, also Lithuanian, was from Scranton PA. Bill attended a vocational school where he learned electric wiring and installation. After graduating high school, he got a job for a local electrical contractor, where he stayed for 19 years. Bill met his wife Marian at a church dance and they were married when he was just shy of 21. Together they had four daughters. The family moved to Long Island where Bill’s daughter’s grew up. He wanted his children to grow up where there was more grass and trees, and less pavement. After the contractor he worked for went bankrupt, Bill started work at NY Telephone (which later became Verizon) where he worked as a building manager. Bill retired when he was 56, and nearly immediately started work driving a school bus. Bill has two daughters in Lake Placid, and they encouraged him to move up to Will Rogers.
